Our Beginning
In 2012, Nick Bare was a nutrition student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a plan to join the Army after graduation and an idea he couldn't shake. He started Bare Performance Nutrition out of his college apartment, built on two values that haven't changed since: transparency in every product, and service to the people who trust it.
After graduation, Nick was commissioned into the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer. Over the next four years, he worked his way through Ranger School and Airborne School before leading an infantry platoon in Texas. The Army taught him leadership, integrity, and how to build a team that shows up for each other. He brought all three home, and they run through everything BPN does today.

2012
College Apartment
Nick starts Bare Performance Nutrition out of his college apartment. One student, one small space, and a standard for what goes into every product.
2013
Nutrition Degree
Nick graduates with a degree in nutrition and dietetics, grounding BPN's formulas in science from the start. Every product since has been built on that foundation.
2014
Army Commission
Nick commissions into the U.S. Army as an Infantry Officer and goes on to complete Ranger School and Airborne School. The discipline he builds there becomes the backbone of BPN's culture.
2016
Platoon Leader, TX
Stationed in Texas, Nick leads an infantry platoon by day and builds BPN after hours. Two full-time missions. Zero shortcuts.
2019
Scaling BPN
Nick goes full-time on BPN, and the community grows fast. Transparent labels, third-party testing, and a founder who trains in public turn customers into a movement.
2026
Austin HQ
Fourteen years in, BPN fuels athletes around the world from its Texas headquarters. The mission hasn't changed: products worth trusting, built for people who put in the work.
